Massage Therapy Awareness- Massage Benefits for Fibromyalgia
Massage offers something special for everyone. Skilled, nurturing touch of a massage therapist can make a big difference in someone’s life. Do you know of someone who might benefit from massage?
For Massage Therapy Awareness Week, we are telling the stories of a few of our clients- maybe one of them will make you think of someone you know that could benefit from massage!
Fibromyalgia makes life complicated because you can’t count on a consistent level of energy. You never know when you are going to wake up with pervasive muscle pain, or a severe headache, or feeling as if you haven’t slept at all. But life won’t wait, especially with a legal career and a young child to take care of. Lisa A has been living with Fibromyalgia for many years now, and finds that monthly massages help reduce the frequency and intensity of her Fibro flare-ups. She gets great headache relief from deep tissue massage at the base of her skull, and the calming, quiet of the massage room helps her escape and “reset” her body and mind to a relaxed state. Her routine massages smooth out the rough spots and make her feel more in control.
